Some family lives in another house: Gran and Grandad, or your grown-up daughter and her children. Link your two families and you can share boards both ways, like Sunday lunches, the holiday or the allotment, with the children joining in too. Linking is free on every plan.
Link your families
- Open Settings, then Family and friends, and tap Link another family. (It's also in a board's Share sheet.)
- Send the link to a grown-up in the other family. It works once, for 7 days.
- They tap it, see that you want to link your families, and choose Link our families. That's it: both families are linked, grown-ups and children.
Share a board
- Open the board and tap Share. The other family's grown-ups are in the list: choose Edit or View for each.
- On their side, the board shows Our children on this board. They tap each of their children who should join.
Nobody can add your children but you. You choose which of your own children join each board, and you can take them off again any time.
Children and hearts
- Your children see the board to look at, and tick their own jobs, as on any board they can look at.
- Their hearts go in their own Kitty Jar and wait for your OK. The other family can't OK them or take them back.
- The other family sees your children's first names and cats only. Never their Kitty Jar, prizes or other boards.
Unlinking
In Settings, Family and friends, under Linked families, tap Unlink. Boards you share with each other stop being shared at once, and each family's children come off the other's boards. Hearts already earned stay in each child's jar.
