Your data

Delete your Kitty Board account

You can delete your account yourself in the app at any time. If you can't get into the app, email us and we'll do it for you.

In the app (iPhone, Android or the web)

  1. Sign in to Kitty Board.
  2. Open Settings (the cog at the bottom of the screen).
  3. Under Your data, tap Delete my account.
  4. Type DELETE and tap Delete my account for good.

It happens straight away. Want a copy first? Tap Download my data in the same place before you delete.

A child's account

Children can't delete their own account. A grown-up who looks after them can: Settings, Family and friends, Manage next to the child's name, then Delete [name]'s account. Children you alone look after are also deleted when you delete your own account.

By email

Can't sign in, or lost your phone? Email [email protected] from the address you sign in with, with the subject Delete my account. We'll check it's you, delete the account within 30 days (usually within two working days) and reply to confirm. We never ask for your sign-in code or a child's PIN.

What is deleted

  • Your account: email address, name, colour and cat design.
  • Boards you own (including ones you shared), their lists, cards, comments and photos.
  • Your Kitty Jar, hearts, prizes only you could use, nudges and approvals.
  • Notification sign-ups on your devices, your Help me use count and your settings.
  • Children only you look after, with everything in their accounts.

What stays, and for how long

  • A family you started passes to your partner, with the boards they own.
  • Problem reports and ideas you sent stay in our help desk, no longer linked to your account (we need them to fix things), unless you ask us to delete them too.
  • Billing records for paid subscriptions, for as long as UK tax law requires (up to 6 years). Apple and Google keep their own purchase records; manage or cancel a subscription in the App Store or Google Play first.
  • Our database backups roll over within 7 days, so a deleted account is gone from them by then.
  • If you also joined the waitlist on this website, that is separate: use the leave link in any waitlist email, or ask in the same email.
